New Editor at OKPNS – Jenn Sierra

Greetings! Chris, at Oklahoma Public News Service has been kind enough to agree to let me hang out here for a while, so I thought I’d introduce myself. I discovered blogging about a year and a half ago, and have been blogging politically at the national level during that time. However, I have recently come to realize that the most important level of politics is the local level – where we actually live.

It is here that we are able to talk to our family, neighbors, friends, business associates and fellow community members about what is going on in our world, and actually work together with those folks to do something about it. It is here that we vote on our issues and candidates. I have lived in Tulsa, OK for most of the last 25 years, and it is here that I am happy to help get the news out about the issues that are important to Oklahomans.

Blogging Baptist Pastor Censured by Southern Baptist Convention

From Alternative Tulsa:

Wade Burleson, a Baptist minister and blogger from Enid, has been censured by the Southern Baptist Convention for his public disagreement with the congregational leadership.

According to a story in the Nov. 21 issue of the Oklahoma Gazette, Burleson was censured by the trustees of the congregation’s International Mission Board because he has continued to criticize some of the trustees’ actions.
